We were at Nauset on April 30th to administer the 2008 Trig-Star competition. We had 44 students show up to take the exam and 140 signed up for a Land Surveying demonstration. There were too many students for the demonstration so we re-scheduled that for June when we could visit individual class rooms.

John Karlen, a Junior from Wellfleet, was our winner at Nauset with a score of 90 in 52 minutes. He received a gift certificate to the Chocolate Sparrow (just in time for Mother's Day!) and is entered in the Cape and Islands competition as well as the State and National levels.

I have been slow in posting to the Current Events and it's not because we haven't been doing anything!! We had the April meeting of the Cape Cod Chapter of MALSCE at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster and 28 members and guests attended. Fred Dunford gave a talk on the geology of Cape Cod and the formation by the glaciers of the Ice Age.

Spring is slowly arriving on the Cape, although I was disappointed to read about possible snow in the forecast for tonight, even though we aren't supposed to have any accumulation I wish it was warmer!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, for those who celebrate....

It's a breezy but sunny day here on the Cape. Not to chilly but enough to keep the heat on!!

Work is still progressing well, several projects on on the "drawing Board" including one exciting GPS job for a local Water Dept.

Our local Chapter of MALSCE had a fun meeting Thursday night with Jack Meade, Barnstable County Register of Deeds. he brought us up to date on the computerization of the Registry and the plans for the future.

We are in side today, and maybe outside tomorrow and Wednesday.
